Referees: Part of the Educational Process and a Team Member
A Talk by Kenyatta Scott and Samantha Moos
About this Talk
High school soccer sets itself apart from grassroots soccer (ie. community or travel leagues) as it is directed by a stricter set of guidelines. High school athletes have additional regulations and rules that they need to abide by including maintaining a minimum GPA for eligibility. These athletes may also have more stringent consequences for inappropriate behavior on and off the pitch.
This presentation will examine the primary three influential forces - teacher , soccer coach, and referee - that help develop and shape student-athletes. The way the three role models work together and separately will be a determining factor in the development of impressionable youth.
